Centre for Distance Education at Athabasca University
CIDER is an integral part of the Centre for Distance Education (CDE) at Athabasca Univesity - Canada's Open University. The CDE offers Canada's most popular Masters of Distance Education Program as well as Graduate Certificate programs and has a Doctorate program awaiting government approval.

Canadian Network for Innovation in Education
CNIE, the Canadian Network for Innovation in Education, is a national organization of professionals committed to excellence in the provision of innovation in education in Canada.

ADETA - Alberta Distance Education and Training Association
ADETA actively fosters collaboration, cooperation, and understanding among those involved with distance education and training in Alberta. ADETA strives to enhance distance education and training by facilitating the exchange of distance education information through meetings and newsletters; initiating and supporting professional development activities through workshops and conferences; promoting research; initiating and supporting mechanisms to encourage closer liaisons between deliverers and receivers; encouraging government, industry, and agency support; promoting greater public awareness and understanding; providing mechanisms to identify and resolve evolving issues.

MADLaT
MADLaT is a voluntary, non-profit association made up of individuals and corporate members interested in distributed learning and training in Manitoba. The purpose is to actively foster collaboration, cooperation, and understanding among those involved with distributed learning and training in Manitoba. This includes facilitating information exchange and building linkages; initiating and supporting professional development in distributed education; promoting research into distributed learning practice and theory; soliciting government and agency support for distributed learning; promoting greater public awareness of distributed education; and providing mechanisms for the identification and resolution of evolving issues.

International Research Foundation for Open Learning
IRFOL is a specialist research agency whose function is to carry out research that will guide policy on open and distance learning. It works with partners mainly in developing nations and is affiliated with the Commonwealth of Learning.
